Logistics for Attending
Ecstatic Community Immersion
August 5–8, 2022
This page is for people who have already registered, to get the latest details on attending this retreat.
The covid PCR test requirement
Everyone must provide documentation of a negative covid PCR test—done by a laboratory--NO EXCEPTIONS. You will be turned away at the Gatehouse if you do not have proof of a negative covid PCR test. Your sample collection must be done within 72 hours of the start of the retreat, so it must be time-stamped after 3pm on Tuesday, August 2nd. Be sure to get tested in time to get your results back (we recommend either late Tuesday or on Wednesday). Please note that Breitenbush reserves the right to double-check your PCR test results with the providing laboratory.
We realize that some people who had covid 3, 4, or 5 weeks ago may still be testing positive, and are unlikely to be contagious. Unfortunately, there’s a chance it is a new bout of covid (since the latest variant can reinfect in less than a month). We’re sorry, but we can’t take the risk.
Reporting your PCR test results:
Choose one of these ways to report your covid PCR test results to Breitenbush:
Option 1: The preferred method is to send your results in advance directly from your lab’s online dashboards. Every testing lab website has a button online near your results that says “Share Your Results”. Follow the instructions there, and copy-and-paste this email to send your results: ec@breitenbush.com. Make sure you get a confirmation email from Breitenbush that they received your results!
Option 2: Download your results as a PDF document. Send it to: ec@breitenbush.com. Make sure you get a confirmation email from Breitenbush that they received your results!
Option 3: Print out your results and bring the paper with you. It must show the contact info of the lab, your name, the time & date the sample was collected, and the results.
Option 4: Download the results to your phone (or take a screenshot), so you have it available at check-in. Keep in mind your cellphone will not get a signal or Wi-Fi at Breitenbush. You will not be able to access results online at Breitenbush, so you need to be prepared with results beforehand. Your proof must show the contact info of the lab, your name, the time & date the sample was collected, and the results.
If you have any unique challenges with your PCR test, please contact Breitenbush directly at: ec@breitenbush.com
If you have a positive PCR test at any point before the retreat:
You may cancel your reservation and get a refund (minus the $100 cancellation fee) if you have a reactive covid PCR test at any point from now until Aug 5th. Send the cancellation request to: info@ecstaticdancecorvallis.com, and submit proof of your PCR test directly to Breitenbush using Option 1 or 2 from the section above.
Staying covid-safe before the retreat:
After your PCR sample is taken, you could easily pick up covid in the day or two before the retreat. Please help take care of the community by quarantining, or at least avoiding indoor social contact and other risky situations before you come up to the retreat.
Testing during the retreat:
We are requesting that everyone bring at least one rapid test for the retreat. It’s important to have that available if you come down with any symptoms. But also—if EVERYONE tests themselves on Saturday and/or Sunday—we could catch some cases of asymptomatic covid and prevent further spread.
Arriving at the retreat:
The retreat opens at 3pm on Friday. You may arrive any time after that. Upon arrival, you will check in at the gate house. (Please note that PJ is unavailable by email after 12pm noon on Friday. If you are running late or having troubles getting to the retreat, please email our Event Coordinator: ec@breitenbush.com)
Friday afternoon is unstructured time to allow for everybody to get settled in and start soaking. Dinner is at 6:30pm. Our Opening ceremony & Orientation is right after dinner at 7:45pm. This session is the only mandatory session of the whole retreat—it's where we introduce everyone, go over healthy boundaries & consent, and begin building camaraderie as a cohort. Everybody is expected to be there.
The retreat schedule is on the website. (https://www.ecstaticimmersion.net/schedule.html) We will be providing printed programs at the retreat.
What if I can’t make it up Friday in time for the Opening Ceremony & Orientation?
Please let us know in advance If you will be arriving later at night on Friday or early Saturday. You will need to be at our make-up orientation on Saturday morning at 9am.
Extra Goodies for You!
We are providing a few goodies that are not normally provided at Breitenbush
--Coffee: Breitenbush provides drip filters and holders for making coffee, as well as a variety of herbal teas. We will be bringing 10+ lbs. of fair-trade, organic coffee to share with everyone until it runs out.
--Snacks: we will be providing some late-night snacks on Saturday and Sunday!
What to bring to the retreat:
Optional:
What Not to Bring to the retreat
There is no cell phone service at Breitenbush. The quickest way to get a message from someone outside the retreat is via email.
For urgent emergencies, have them use: emergency@breitenbush.com. If Breitenbush receives an emergency message for you, the Breitenbush staff will do their best to find you ASAP.
For general messages, have them use: office@breitenbush.com. If Breitenbush gets a general message for you, they will post a note on the board outside the cafeteria.
If you need an emergency phone number rather than email for someone to get in touch with you, have them use this number and leave a message: 503-854-3320
Construction at Breitenbush:
Breitenbush is in the middle of new construction to replace structures that burned in the 2020 wildfire, as well as repairs in the Lodge to fix a recently failed water line. So, please expect some construction noise while we are there (mainly contained to the weekdays from 8am to 4pm). And unfortunately, the bathrooms in the Lodge will not be operational—instead there will be porta-potties and washing stations set throughout the property. Says Breitenbush, “It is a wonderful chance to be a part of some incredible changes and repair work to a very old and historic building and be a part of the hustle and bustle that can sometimes come with the stewardship of these springs and our buildings.”
That’s all for now. Thank you for reading and preparing well so that we can have a smooth immersion experience together!
Much Love,
PJ

Adding someone to my lodging spot
You may add someone to your existing lodging reservation, as long as the retreat has not yet hit its maximum capacity. Please email us for more details.
What happens if there's a covid surge or forest fires in the weeks before the retreat?
We are hoping that covid will continue to be manageable, and there won't be forest fires nearby. But anything is possible. Please know that Breitenbush is committed to the health of its patrons. We will be expected to follow whatever covid safety practices Breitenbush has in place. If there is a serious covid surge or if the AQI is bad from smoke, the retreat would either be cancelled or you would have some other options.
May I arrive at Breitenbush earlier in the day on Friday, August 5th?
You may buy a day use pass directly from the Breitenbush website to arrive as early as 9am. These passes will sellout early, so be sure to get yours ASAP. www.breitenbush.com/day-use
How do I arrange to stay at Breitenbush for additional nights before and/or after this retreat?
You may book extra nights to extend your stay right on the Breitenbush website: breitenbush.com/personal-retreats
What if I want to cancel my registration?
